|Marcine founded How About Learning, LLC 5 years ago when she decided to pursue her Ph.D. in Curriculum Instruction at the University of Illinois At Chicago. She is currently a Doctoral Candidate with her research mainly centered on assessment and grounded in Vygotsky’s theories about learning. She graduated from DePaul University with a degree in Elementary Education in 2013 and completed her Masters in MESA (Measurement, Evaluation, and Statistical Analysis) this past fall. She is currently an Adjunct Professor at Elmhurst College. Outside of work Marcine enjoys spending time with family and friends and training the company’s mascot, Cooper, to be a reading therapy dog.||
Lauren is an elementary school teacher in the Chicago Public Schools. Lauren graduated from Indiana University with her degree in Elementary Education in 2012. She also received her ESL endorsement from American College of Education in 2015. Lauren is originally from Detroit, Michigan and moved to Chicago about 5 years ago. She’s taught grades 1-5 in her 6 years of teaching and is currently teaching third-grade math and science. Last year, 96% of her students met their growth target on the NWEA assessment. She loves yoga, music, cooking and spending time with friends and her family. She just recently got married and traveled to Europe for the first time!
